  • The PDF digital files for the Helen's Closet Moss Jacket (Size range: US 0-34). The link to the PDF instruction booklet and A0 and A4 PDF files for all sizes will be contained in your order confirmation email. They will also be available to access when logged into the g&g website
  • A0 print out of the Helen's Closet Moss Jacket. All sizes are included on the A0 print out

  • Thread: 1 reel of matching Gutermann thread, in shades 218 (lapis) or 112 (ocean) - if you don't have an overlocker and plan to use the same thread for finishing off seam allowances, we suggest you purchase an extra reel or use a similar shade left over from another project.

  • Sewing Machine Needles: Schmetz Universal Needles
  • Label: 'YAY / Me Made' Sew in woven label

A physical print out of the instruction booklet will NOT be included. You can view the instruction booklet on your device at home, print it out at home, or add the 'printed pattern instructions' product (see link below) to your order and we will print it for you.

The Moss Jacket returns alongside our Greek fabrics as an easy layering piece to complete your handmade summer wardrobe.

Available in coordinating plain fabrics from our core collection, this ready-to-go project works beautifully layered over printed dresses, embroidered tops or maybe matching scalloped trousers! The relaxed shape of the Moss Jacket makes it ideal for warmer weather layering, and the plain fabrics allow details like topstitching, pockets and construction techniques to really stand out.

Each kit includes everything you need to make your own Moss, in colours carefully selected to coordinate with the rest of the collection so you can mix and match garments easily across the season.

Customise your jacket's features depending on the style you want to wear; opt for long sleeves and a wide band if you feel the chill in the evenings, or keep it summery with mid length sleeves and the external front facing. Moss is unlined, without set-in sleeves, which makes it a straightforward sew. It also has the benefit of very minimal fitting!

There is enough fabric in each kit to make any hip length view of the jacket.

Fabric

This bundle is available with a choice of two fabrics: Ocean Textured Ramie or Lapis Washed Enzyme Linen

The Ocean Textured Ramie is a wardrobe essential in calm coastal tones - structured, breathable, and naturally textured with a linen-like feel.

Made from 75% linen and 25% cotton, this ocean-inspired blue fabric features natural slubs and a soft, lived-in texture. It is certified Oeko-Tex and has a weight of 255 g/m².

The Lapis Washed Enzyme Linen is a deep, vibrant blue inspired by gemstones and Mediterranean seas that brings a pop of colour to any handmade outfit.

Enzyme washing gives this linen-cotton blend a beautifully smooth and lightly textured feel. It’s breathable, mid-weight and ideal for garments with drape and comfort. Made of 87% linen and 13% cotton, it has a gsm of 230 g/m².

Both fabrics are part of our Core Collection – a carefully curated range of sewing staples and our favourite fabrics to work with.

Pattern

The Moss Jacket pattern included in the kit is yours to keep. Not only will you have the full sized A0 print out, with all the variations and styles inside your kit box, you also have access to the PDF files for your future reference. This means you can remake Moss in different fabrics and combinations long after your jacket is complete - yay!

The Moss Jacket is the ultimate easy layering piece for your wardrobe. It has options for an external front band facing or a wide, folded collar. Lauren also demonstrates in her top tips video how to make this collar narrower, as shown on our lapis blue sample.

There's options for long or 3/4 length sleeves, depending on your preference. The pattern includes a mid-thigh length view, though please note that the fabric included in the kits is enough to make the shorter, hip-length jacket (as modelled). All views have roomy front pockets and a back yoke detail.

Sizing

This pattern is available in sizes: US 0-34 (bust 30”-60”)

For the full size chart, including finished measurements, please see the gallery above. Our samples are made to the model's measurements.
