The Away Tote is the answer to the perfect weekend bag. Taking inspiration from the best selling Day Tote pattern, the Away Tote has been designed to hold a bigger capacity, with additional functions for carrying a heavier load.

Shaped to fit the size specifications of cabin luggage, the bag features a roomy interior that narrows towards the top, 2 handle lengths, spacious internal pockets and the option of a zip up lid for security.

Using This Pattern in Your Next Project

Fabric

We recommend choosing a sturdy and durable fabric for your main shell with a weight of around 13-18oz / 450-600gsm. A sturdy lining will also help to give the bag shape so try to choose something with a good weight and structure with a weight of around 10-15oz / 350-500gsm. And a mid/light weight cotton or linen is recommended for the piping to help reduce the bulky seam allowances.
