All of the money raised through The Big G&G Sewcial will be split equally between three brilliant charities doing important work in and around Birmingham: Anawim, St Basils and Square Peg Activities.

Anawim

Anawim is Birmingham’s centre for women, providing gender and trauma responsive wraparound support to help women reach their potential.

They work with more than 2,000 women every year through advocacy, counselling, crisis intervention and intensive long term specialist support, both within the Birmingham community and in prison.

St Basils

St Basils is a charity and housing association that has spent more than 50 years supporting young people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless, vulnerable or at risk.

They provide accommodation alongside a holistic range of support services, helping young people find stability and move towards a more positive future.

Square Peg Activities

Based in Sutton Coldfield, Square Peg Activities provides an inclusive play space for disabled children and their families.

Their mission is to enable disabled children, young people and adults to connect, belong and thrive through safe, accessible activities built around individual needs. They are working towards a Birmingham where disabled people are welcomed, prioritised and understood, and where nobody needs to apologise for being themselves.

We’re incredibly proud that our sewing community can come together to support all three.

Welcome meet up at Moseley Hive

We’ll be kicking things off at 10am at Moseley Hive, where you can join us for a welcome drink before heading out to explore everything happening throughout the day.

It’s the perfect chance to meet up with friends, say hello to other sewists and get ready for a full day of sewing and making in Moseley.

Makers Market 
at Moseley Exchange 

149-153 Alcester Rd | 10am - 3pm

Next, wander down to Moseley Exchange, where you’ll find our Makers Market across two floors, with brilliant makers and independent businesses.

I really wanted the Sewcial to be about celebrating creativity in all its forms and supporting the fantastic independent businesses within our wider making community, so I can’t wait for you to discover everyone taking part.

You might want to leave a little room in your shopping bag!

Come and See Us at Guthrie & Ghani

169 Alcester Rd | 10am - 4pm

Of course, the fabric shop will be open too!

Pop in for a browse, have a catch up with the team and get some inspiration for your next project.

We’ll also have refreshments, our tombola and an amazing prize draw, with some seriously exciting prizes up for grabs.

There have been some incredibly generous contributions, and every ticket you buy will be helping us raise even more for our three chosen charities.

Every £5 donation made through our Big G&G Sewcial Prize Draw gives you one entry into the draw, with the money raised from paid entries going to our three chosen charities.

£5 DONATION = 1 PRIZE DRAW ENTRY

Donate £10 = 2 entries
Donate £20 = 4 entries
Donate £50 = 10 entries

One of the things I’m most excited about is seeing people moving around Moseley, bumping into sewing friends, discovering new makers, swapping treasures and generally enjoying being part of this brilliant creative community.

There’s no entry fee and you don’t need to book to simply come along and enjoy the day.
