October's New Dressmaking Fabrics: Laurens Favourite Autumn Arrivals

In this video I'm wearing my Lèana Blouse in the Flùr Meadow print. This version has the gathers and the front and back yoke with the shirring elastic cuff. I've paired it with my Merchant and Mills Quinn trousers in our Sanded Cotton Twill. 

These lovely new cotton fabrics are perfect for cosy autumn and winter sewing! The sweet Cherry Drop cotton flannels in cream and pink would make gorgeous pyjamas or snuggly lounge trousers. For something a little different, the Folk Embroidered Border cotton double gauze comes in peach and sky blue, with a beautiful decorative border that's perfect for making a feature of in relaxed tops, blouses or nightwear.

I love these new reversible cotton double gauze fabrics! With checks on one side and stripes on the other, there are so many opportunities to mix and match the two designs in one sewing project. Available in four gorgeous colour combinations, they're lovely for relaxed shirts, tops, dresses or cosy pyjamas. You could even use the contrasting sides for pockets, cuffs or other little details!

There's something so lovely about a classic check, especially in these gorgeous autumnal shades! The embroidered daisy cotton viscose fabrics add a pretty little twist to a traditional gingham, while the viscose linen and linen viscose checks have a lovely relaxed feel. Perfect for sewing shirts, blouses, dresses and easy everyday separates that you can layer up as the weather gets cooler.

I love the gorgeous colour combinations of these bold checks and stripes! The slightly heavier weight yarn-dyed cotton has a lovely crisp handle, making it perfect for garments where you want a bit more structure and shape. Think statement shirts, gathered skirts, dresses or even a matching pyjama set using the coordinating checks and stripes!

 For something with a little more texture, the embroidered floral jacquard and dotty dobby stripe cottons have beautiful woven details that would look lovely made up into blouses and tops.
