It's been another busy month here at g&g with so many gorgeous new fabric arrivals into the shop - perfect for summer makes! From embellished and embroidered fabrics, to summer classics like out 100% light weight linen and some comfy jerseys in there too there is plenty inspiration to be had and lots of ideas and plans to add to the 'to sew' list!

Detailed Embroidered Cottons

These on-trend fabrics are perfect for summer tops and blouses. Don't forget to check out my blog post all about lining garments - I'd recommend this especially for the trailing embroidery cotton fabrics. The for zigzag broderie anglaise you could rotate your pattern pieces 90 degrees to the selvedge for a horizontal stripe design and make use of the zigzig scalloped edge for hems and ruffles.

Fresh Cotton Double Gauze Fabrics

These bright fresh and fruity fabrics would be perfect for keeping cool in a simple summer top!

Classic 100% Linen fabrics

Embrace the gorgeous natural texture and character of 100% linen fabric with these classic plains in a lighter weight fabric. Ideal for crisp summer shirts and tops with details like pin tucks or pleats.

Quirky Quilted Fabrics

A super easy way to make a cheats patchwork quilted gilet of light weight summer jacket. These lovely fabric all have a coordinating plain colour on the reverse so the come ready lined! Yay!

Textured Knits

These cotton blended knit effect fabrics in lovely soft shades for summer are perfect for that extra layer you can sometimes need!

Pretty Floral Jerseys

Make a classic t-shirt style top with the Layered Blossom jersey fabric - the linen fibre content gives a really nice natural texture and feel. The French Terry Florals are ideal for lighter weight jumpers and sweaters - perfect for this time of year.

Classic Jersey Stripes

I love the soft shade in these thin stripe jerseys - ideal for a t-shirt or vest for everyday comfort! The stripes are so narrow I think you could also get away without worrying too much about stripe matching! Bonus!
