Laurens New Fabrics round up January 2026

I’m back at the cutting table sharing my January 2026 new fabric arrivals, packed with spring/summer inspiration – embroidered cottons, denims, jerseys and more.

I'm delighted to be back at the cutting table on the g&g shop floor to share with you a selection of the beautiful dressmaking fabrics that have arrived over the past month.

It's a very inspiring time of year for new projects as we start to see all of our spring/summer fabrics arrive. Just what we need as we crawl through January, longing for more daylight hours and that chance to sew lovely garments for warmer brighter weather!

Whether you need full on summer inspiration with delicate embroidered cottons or something more transitional like a cosy fabric in a fresh new colour, I've got a packed list of fabric, all shared in detail with nice close up clips of the texture and drape of the fabric in my latest Youtube video!

Scroll on for links to all the fabrics I feature and don't forget to check out the just arrived section for the very latest fabrics - we've got more and more arriving each week - yay!

What I'm wearing

In this video I'm wearing one of my favourite patterns - the Closet Core Nicks! It's so versatile and this pull over version is the perfect combo of feeling a bit smart and fancy with ease and comfort! Sewn up in our classic Chicacheetah print it's the explosion of colour you need on a dull winters day!

Textured Embroidered Fabrics

This selection of fabrics sees a slightly different type of embroidered where the design sits proud of the fabric a little, giving a lovely texture and depth to the fabrics. All on slightly more weighty base cloths - viscose linen and double gauze. These fabrics are prefect for more structured tops and dresses.

Subtle Jacquard Woven Fabrics

If simple and plain colours are more your vibe but you want something more interesting that a flat fabric, these textured jacquards are a lovely in-between option. With a subtle design woven into the fabric, it makes the fabric way more interesting!

Embroidery and Stripes - Yay!

With a delicate embroidered design and a yarn dyed stripe the is a lovely combination for garments were you want to play around with stripe direction. Think collars, cuffs, patch pockets and yokes with the stripes in a different direction - it's a lovely way to really customise your project!

Denims and Jacket Fabrics - we all need them!

These ex-designer showerproof fabrics are ideal for that lighter weight jacket you need for transitional weather. And who doesn't need more jeans and trousers in fancy denims that are just a bit different! My hands up - I've got some of the Indigo Stripe Rigid Denim fabric on pre-wash already!

I hope you have found this lovely selection of fabrics inspiring and are feeling inspired to see for the new seasons ahead!
