Learn how to attach Prym Rose Gold Anorak Snaps using the Prym Creative Tool in this step-by-step featuring my latest make, the Ruby Vest!

I love adding a special finishing touch to my dressmaking projects, and for this latest make, the Syd Graham Ruby Vest, I added these gorgeous Prym Rose Gold Anorak Snaps.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to attach anorak snaps to your sewing projects using the Prym Creative Tool. It’s such an easy and versatile way to apply different types of sewing hardware, making it a really useful addition to your sewing toolkit.

Watch my latest YouTube video to find out exactly how I attached the Prym Rose Gold Snaps to my Ruby Vest using the Prym Creative Tool, along with tips for getting a neat and professional finish.

I've linked all the tools, fabrics and pattern that I used for this project below, so keep scrolling for all the details of where to buy in my online shop.

My Project Details

The Ruby vest sewing pattern is one of those super versatile patterns. With so many variations and options for fabric combinations, it's no surprise that I have added another one to my handmade wardrobe since we made this project available as a kit.

The fabrics and pattern I used

For my latest version, I made another reversible one and I used this gorgeous sprinkle boucle fabric that is a wool mix, making it super cosy!

If you fancy learning how I did this dotted quilt style, check out my top hints and tips video available for purchase below - it explains all you need to know about quilting, as well as adding a dart to this simple style for improved fit and less gaping around the arm hole.

The Prym Tools you need

I love adding snaps to my makes and for this project I choose the Rose gold colourway of the Prym Anorak Snaps. I think they look really professional and even when I reverse the vest to wear with the boucle fabric facing outwards, the back of the snaps blend in and coordinate really nicely!

I used the Prym Creative tool to apply them on, after cutting a small hole in the layers of fabric with my punch pliers.

The Prym Vario pliers are another alternative, but they do requite quite a bit of extra grip strength.

I hope you have found this useful and inspiring and feel more confident about tackling a finishing touch like this on your next project!
