Planning a Visit to Guthrie & Ghani?
Make a day of it in Moseley!
If you’re planning a trip to Guthrie & Ghani, you’re in for a real treat, and not just because of the beautiful fabrics, sewing kits, and handmade inspiration waiting for you in store. Moseley Village, our lovely little corner of Birmingham, is full of charm and character, and well worth exploring while you’re here.

We'd love to welcome your sewing group!
If you love to sew with friends, attend a local class, or meet up for creative catch-ups, Moseley and Guthrie & Ghani offer something truly special.
Whether it’s a weekly sewing club, a retreat you look forward to, or just a cosy afternoon at the machine with friends, sewing in good company makes all the difference.

Why dont you... pop in for a casual visit, plan a day out, book a group workshop in our studio, or even arrange a private late-night shopping session for your group.
While you are here, browse beautiful fabrics, chat through project ideas with the team, see samples up close, and maybe even create something beautiful while you’re here.
No need for a big group or loads of experience, just a shared love of making and a warm, welcoming community. Then, once you’ve had your G&G fix, Moseley’s cosy cafés, brilliant independent shops are just waiting to be explored.
by public transport
The number 50 bus runs frequently (every 5 minutes or so) between Birmingham city centre and Druids Heath, with stops conveniently close to the shop—look out for either Moseley Village or Moseley Hall Hospital. The 50 departs from Moor St Selfridges (Stop MS2), making it an easy and quick journey from town.
While Moseley doesn’t yet have its own station (it’s due to open in Autumn 2025!), nearby stations include University (1.9 miles), Bournville (2 miles), and Hall Green (2.1 miles). From there, a short bus or taxi ride will get you to us.

Visting by car
There are a few nearby options for parking:
- Moseley Village Car Park – Just across the road and a short walk towards the Village Green. It’s next to a takeaway near a bus stop. Look out for the 'Ringo' app—you’ll likely need it to pay.
- The Village Pub Car Park – Only about 30 metres up the road from our shop (on the same side).
- Street Parking – Alcester Road (where the shop is) has one-hour free parking on weekdays between 10:00am – 4:30pm, and no restrictions on weekends. Always double-check the signage as it's a bus lane at certain times.
- Residential Roads – You’ll usually find free parking on Tudor Road, Leighton Road, Farquhar Road, or Reddings Road (about a 5-minute walk away).
