Team G&G Top Spring Picks & Sewing Inspo
Spring is definitely in the air, and with it comes a fresh wave of sewing inspiration from all of us at Guthrie & Ghani! 🌸
In our monthly team video, we share what’s been sparking our creativity lately—from easy wins to wardrobe staples and fabrics you’ll want to sew all day. But before I hand over to the team, here’s what’s currently on my cutting table...
Lauren's Makes
You might have spotted our pink jumbo cord in the window recently—it’s made a popular return and I couldn’t resist planning a new pair of Oxbow Trousers using it! I already have the pattern sorted from our kit samples, so I’m hoping this will be a fairly straightforward (and satisfying) sew.
my ultimate summer top!
I'm also making the Split Peplum Tank from Matchy Matchy using the adorable Fish Friends Embroidered Cotton Gauze. I made one of these for our linings blog and loved how quick and easy it was—perfect for showing off a special fabric without overcomplicating things.
Now, let’s see what the rest of the team has to show us…
Hannah's Fabric Focus: Ramies & Enzyme Linens
Hannah has been loving the fresh new colours we’ve added to our range of ramie and enzyme linens—two ideal choices for spring/summer sewing.
Ramie is so popular every summer, it is a lovely linen fabric that’s great for trousers, dungarees, and lightweight jackets. The new White and Pink Punch colourways are especially dreamy.
We’ve also had a delivery of enzyme-washed linens in gorgeous soft hues—Lapis, Cornflower, Sage, Teal and Violet. So breathable and easy to sew with!
Rosie’s Pattern Picks: Anna Allen PDFs Are Here!
Some exciting news! We havethe much-loved Anna Allen patterns now available as PDFs on our website! Don't forget that you can also add an A0 print-out to your order to (save yourself piecing and taping together!)
These patterns have also been featured in past sewing society kits so the tip videos available.
Rosie is a big trouser fan—she’s built up quite the impressive me-made collection over the years!
When it comes to fabric, Rosie would be pairing these with our sanded twill in Stone or Black for a classic, wearable look. But if you’re in the mood for something a bit bolder, check out the new colourway of our ever-popular Ace Denim—it’s a standout choice for a striking twist on your next trouser make.
Jo & Jess: Patterns for Every Skill Level
Jo and Jess are here with some inspo for Tilly and The Buttons hot new pattern The Samara Top, which, by the way, is a great choice for beginners and beyond.
For a lighter springtime look, they recommend the sweet Sevenberry seersucker spotty cottons. More advanced stitchers might love trying it in one of our luxurious Fabric Godmother embroidered fabrics—plus, we’ve got matching linings too!
Lorna’s Stretch Sewing Tips

Becca’s Sewing Society Tip
Becca shares a really practical tip this month—she’s been sewing the Olya Shirt, but found it slips backwards on her shoulders. Her solution? A forward shoulder adjustment!
It’s a great fitting tweak that can make a big difference, and she’ll walk you through the technique (not necessarily using the Olya). If you’re working on this shirt, be sure to check out our Olya tip video too.
That's all, until next time!
